Gar. Taxi back from the RID gig is £14, split 4 ways is very good. However the branch in my village is closed and they won't take payment on the night or over the phone, if I want it I'll have to go to the Loughborough branch and pay up front. WHY. IK.

Greetings, English essay....I'm going in...
*convulses* John Clare...eugh.

i. My grandfather died on Monday, and it's been a bit sad...my dad was pretty upset, although he's coping better now, but it's been a bit of a blow... I don't really know what else I can say about it. I'm not looking forward to the funeral next week, I very easily and I've got a feeling it'll overwhelm me :( I don't want to see my dad cry again.

ii. Thankfully my exams are over, I did Philip II on Tuesday. The first essay question went very well I think, the 2nd question I'm not so sure on, I think I may have waffled slightly and been a bit vague on my historiography, but we'll see. It could have been a lot worse to be honest.

iii. I've got a hell of a cold. One blocked nostril, blocked sinuses, really snotty, sore throat. Not enough to warrent me staying off school, but enough to make me feel run down as hell and depressed when I'm there.

iv. Music lesson tomorrow...eugh, flute practise tonight and flute lesson tomorrow with cold=eugh. Plus I'll probably be grilled by my music teacher to see how I'm feeling and will probably end up crying...

v. I'm feeling a bit down at the moment, not able to relax after my exams, feeling pretty ill and obviously the stuff with my grandfather.

vi. On an upbeat note- chances of Noel Fielding having NOT snapped them up in the Topshop sale? Slim. http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=19551&storeId=12556&categoryId=73418&parent_category_rn=61561&productId=531517&langId=-1

i. Only 9 days to my Royal Holloway interview. And I've booked train tickets for little me to go down there! Oooo navigating Kings Cross and the underground on my own. Schocking independance. Plus I get to meet and spend time with [Unknown LJ tag]. Rad man.

ii. Re-reading list for interview:
Electra Euripides
Hecuba Euripides
i>The Republic</i> Plato, but just the chapter on Women
Lysistrata Aristophanes
An Epic History of Greece and Rome Robin Lane Fox
The Death of Socrates Emily Wilson

With The Death of Socrates I'll just note down some of the main ideas in the book as it was only 2 or 3 months ago I read it. With An Epic History of Greece and Rome the part I'm unsure on is the transition from Republic to Empire, which I'm reading in Augustus by Holland I just bought, so I'll cover it there.

Actually, I may get all the re-reading covered I wanted too. Still feeling slightly worried about the interview though- I REALLY want to go there.

iii. Italy reunion partee tonight. Spent most of it speaking to Jono and Adam. Merry merry. Jono makes me larf, and I lost a lot of arm wrestles with Adam. Woe.

iv. New icons! Rad! Noel and The Mighty Boosh!

v. I really like watching University Challenge but it's yet to have on any Uni's I've applied too. This week it's University of Birmingham and Magdalene College Oxford.

EDIT- Warwick are on next week! I've got a place there! Woo! And apparently they won it last year! Cool!

vi. Love to all <3

i. School laid on breakfast today for the Upper 6th and the Upper 6th guys, which was fun. I had a really good bacon sandwich and coffee, which really kept me awake and content for a lot of the day. If only I was able to have such a substantial breakfast normally :/

ii. Brrrr busy day. Was not amused when Mr Pollock set us an essay in Class Civ :/ I'd already been doing my best to avoid my current English one. The thought of 2 essays on slightly neurotic me made me a bit grumpy :/ However I did most of it in my study periods and finished it tonight. Woo! Pollock better give me an A, I feel it's pretty good.

iii. Music lesson today. My new teacher is really nice and a fab teacher. Also only Katie and I turned up to Flute Band so we did some duets, Irish Folk, Film music and stuff which was really fun.

iv. *pokes self* Right, loads of study periods tomorrow, no excuse not to make a start on my English essay *pokes harder*.

v. High School Musical 2 premiere tomorrow! *shuffles feet looking vaguely ashamed*

*loves you all*

i. Alex's partee yesterday for her 17th. T'was very fun, we had ice fights which is highly amusing and immature but god I swear everyone turned savage...I was a bit damp for the rest of the evening. Far too much be Pizza and we watched The Italian Job (the original of course) which was great :)

ii. OMG I HATE YOU BIOLOGY. I've been revising Human Health and Disease all week and I've just about covered everything. I know there's the odd thing I need to look at more and it goes against my neurotic nature to leave it, but I am BORED and getting un productive with it. Some History instead from now on me thinks :S

iii. Made gorgeous and yummy flapjack today, while watching the cricket. Go England! I was sad Cook didn't get to his hundred, he is a sweetie. The banter between Pieterson and Gayle was vair funnee ('Don't make me cross, Chris' ha!)

iv. Had a £7 H&M gift card from Sara and Lou so I bought a really pretty pink tutuy mini skirt with it, it's got rainbows and stars on, is lurvely. It was only £8 in total so it cost me quid! BARGAIN!

v. Need Pete. Need cuddling. And snogging. And pointless stupid conversation. Revision. Killing. Me. Slowly. But. Surely.

Hows you all?

i. It just so happens that the village where I live is where Madeline McCann is from, so there's loads of media vans in our village broadcasting and doing reports...it would be quite touching if it wasn't for the fact you knew they're doing it just to get a good report. There's loads of ribbons and flowers tied around the village green...it's rather surreal.

ii. Grammar school army inspecition day today so we had to play for about an hour in the freezing cold with WIND. Sheet music + wind = NOT AMUSING. I was COLD. And slightly freaked out by Morley and Forsyth who were discussing making terrorist tapes and sending them to Al Jazera (jokily, I hope)...but they told me I'd taken what they said out of context...right... they make me feel normal.

iii. I AM CRAVING PIZZA

iv. Pete's coming over in a bit so I'm no way going to get any work done, added to the fact he's driving here. This scares me. A lot.

v. Tuna and mayonnaise sandwich, that is what I want...

How are you people?

i. So I'm back. Hello! Holiday was a bit up and down, amazing weather and it passed quickly but I did miss everyone. I always feel very cut off from civiliation without a big city and a computer nearby.

ii. I'm pretty much 100% well again and can just about hear. Would you believe it took almost 2 weeks after my antibiotics finished till I could hear properly again? That's not good. But I am shiny and happy now :)

iii. I've actually got some decent revision in over holiday for my Class Civ exam which is May 15th :S and I just need to do an English essay and I would really like to do some history reading. I've set aside all of today for it (sorry, I can't come over to yours [info]musical_nymph- we shall do it next weekend maybes?)

iv. Really missed Pete...he asked to see me when I got back and I saw him yesterday morning for coffee in town. Thankfully a comfy sofa was free in Starbucks so we were able to snuggle up *cough* He's the loveliest guy ever and he makes me laugh and smile so much.

v. Picnic larks on monday in Queens park. Chris, Emma, Boston, Pete and I. Both Pete and Chris are bringing wine, oh dear. And I think I'll bring a rug :P Will be proper larks one thinks, bring your camera, Em. Am very much looking forward to this.

vi. OMGzzzzz the new Fall Out Boy CD rocks my effing socks so hard.

How are you all? I missssssed you guys :)

i) I'm ill :( I cannot afford to be ill, as I need to work, but alas there seems to be nothing I can do. My back, shoulders, head and upper legs are aching, my tonsils are swollen, lots of mucus and a headache. Every do often I think I'm fine then my muscles just...flop and I sort of lie half across my desk because le muscles are DEAD. Poos.

ii) I'm going on holiday for a week next Friday. I'm actually quite looking forward to the sunshine, but I know I'll miss internet access, but I don't mind. I need a change of scenery and fresh air.

iii) My mum and I just spent £18 on www.lilylolo.co.uk I advise everyone to check out that stuff. The foundation is magical, I wore my sample for 6 days in a row and not a single new spot, if anything my skin felt more healthy when I was wearing it. Also the eyeshadows go on very easily and are very sheer :) Just hope our new order comes before we go on holiday

iv) OMG The Bangladesh v South Africa (cricket) match last night was AMAZING! Bangladesh, you seriously rule. There's something very satisfying about seeing an entire SA batting order drop like flies :D

v) *muslces die again* *Ellie slumps over keyboard*

Gah...

i) There is entirely too much homework and revision to fit into the 2 weeks of the holidays before I'm carted off on a family holiday. I'm a teenager as well you know teachers! I like to have something vaguely akin to a social life when I'm off school! That's why it's called a holiday! *spits at work*

ii) I'm getting my hair chopped today. At the moment it's chest length, strawberry blondey, wavy and thick with one layer about an inch off the bottom. I was planning to get a couple of inches off and a few layers put in to thin it out...does this sound wise? Hmmm... There's something very relaxing about sitting in a chair and watching large chunks of hair fall to the floor...

iii) My boyfriend's an idiot but a cute idiot. Let us say no more on that subject.

iv) Cricket last night...oh dear. England v Sri Lanka, I honestly thought we'd do it *cries* I was actually spitting and swearing for a good half an hour after that :( I felt so sorry for Bopara...

vi) [info]musical_nymph and Emily staying over at mine tonight after le gig of doom. WEHEY! Sylph! I can't wait to hear them live again! You guys should all give them a listen www.myspace.com/sylphband it's a bit scary to think some of the people playing are friends of mine- they sound so good! Talent!

vii) I suppose I should get some more work done today if I'm going out this afternoon and tonight *cries*

Hows you all?

i) Wow I really can be such a tard. I am a bit...anal as some of you who know me in RL might have gathered. I need organisation and I need to know what's going on. I just made a bit of an idiot of myself with Pete, basically saying something to the effect of 'I'm still confused about what exactly it is you want, I mean do you want to see me in the holidays, I'm a bit confused about what you think...' and other worrying things. He replied telling me not to worry that 'I'd love to see you' and 'I'm not going anywhere.'

See this is why I need stuff spelled out to me, because while I'm normally a positive person if I don't know what's going on I spazz a bit.

ii) I shall work tomorrow! I promise! I'm seeing Pete at like 3 so that gives me a lot of morning time to DO SOME BLOODY WORK, otherwise I KNOW I'll feel guilty. I have some essays which need to be got rid of *shudder*

iii) Dude- April fools. I did not remember about that at all till [info]bergann totally got me with her latest post. Has mugglenet done anything this year? I've haven't been on there in yonks...

iv) Holidays = relaxing for the first day or so, then guilt as you know you have work to do, then sheer boredom.

v) I bought this today: http://www.dorothyperkins.com/wcsstore/DorothyPerkins//images/catalog/56730401_large.jpg which looks really pretty with my royal blue shrug and green beads *sigh* so purty!

vi) For godsake TEXT ME BACK [info]musical_nymph- I REALLY need to talk to you!!!"

vii) Happy Sunday people- what's new?

i) I've had one of those rare days when stuff started off a bit rubbish got better. I woke up feeling truely tired, despite getting a good nights sleep and I really struggled to hold myself together for the first hour of today.

ii) Did nothing in my frees, and despite it being the end of term tomorrow it still made me feel a bit guilty. I then got a bit pissed off at break because Pete texted me saying he couldn't meet up with me, because he really had to finish his coursework. This just annoyed me further as I was still tired and had nothing to keep me going during the tedium of the day. However he called me half an hour before the end of lunch and he came and met me with Emma and James and we had a really nice time in the music block, listening to Pete and James's compositions. Only slightly made awkward by the fact that Miss Todd caught us snogging at the school gate. Do you not remember what it was to be young, woman?!

iii) End of term tomorrow! Wooo! However there is also the Burton Service- where the entire 6th form, guys and girls, will be preached at. I'm guessing I won't be able to suitably disguise my ipod under my hair... This angers me as it truely is a wasted god knows how long. It's not even religious- it's just teachers and speakers taking a moral high ground and trying to make you 'think'.

iv) Looks like I'll be seeing 300 at the cinema tomorrow after school finishes at 12, with Emma and Jayna! Woooo!

v) Almost end of term! Wooo!

So...I was out with Pete at lunch again today. Yesterday there was some nice hugging and I kissed his cheek (well okay, his jaw- I'm short) but today there was a snog :) It wasn't perfect- we were hugging as he went to leave and I sort of said 'kiss' but he got me very quickly. There was no bashing of teeth or anything it just wasn't quite...right. Nice, but with practise better can be achieved :) However Emily Kaye saw us so now it's over most of the 6th form and I'm possibly going to face an onslaught tomorow of 'you said you weren't dating him' then confused looks when I say 'I'm not'.

Hey ho.

In other news I wrote a very good English essay. I am determined to do better ones than I've done in the past and I've spent many a headache on this so it best be good. However I've got another English essay to do for Tuesday and I'm sure I'm going to be set a History essay tomorow as well :S Plus a Biology planning excercise in for Monday...It's really annoying as I haven't been tardy with my work I've just had loads of stuff come in at one time.

How are all you guys?

I feel better! Really suddenly yesterday and today I feel fine. Which leads me to believe my feeling very very depressed (and crying and feeling on edge) is hormones/that time of the month related. Thank God I honestly cannot deal with another week and a half of that- I'll make sure I get myself booked in at the Doctors at the time of my period next month. I'm sure it's not normal for PMT to last that long and be quite that severe.

Anyway, shopped yesterday with [info]rosy_love_music, [info]twinni_two and [info]twinni_one. Very fun, had a great time in Primark which had loads of cheap but really nice bits in. I spent £10, got a top, pashmina, a ring and loads of earings. But I went back later and picked up a couple of pairs of trousers for school (one will be returned- I couldn't be bothered to try them on and I don't need both.) So yay :) And we also went to The Noodle Bar for lunch, which apart from being lovely and cheap and authentic attracts a higher standard of clientel- cue pretty boys for Ellie to drool over *cough*

Oh my GOSH Top Gear tonight! HAMMOND! Okay so I'm going to have to do some English Coursework and Class Civ revision before I earn the right to bum out this afternoon but TOP GEAR!

*shnuggles*

Best Kate Bush copy I've heard. I've never really listened to Placebo before this- can anyone rec me any of their tracks to download?
